Day 9804

Day 9803

Two monks were once traveling together back to their temple. On the way they came to a large puddle full of mud, which they had to cross. At the brink of the puddle they saw a young woman standing, afraid to cross it.

“Come”, said one of the monks, “I will carry you to the other side”. He took her on his back, and carried her to the other side of the puddle. After crossing the road, the two monks continued walking silently for hours, until they reached their destination.

The other monk could not keep silent any longer and exclaimed:” How could you carry that girl on your back? We are monks and are not allowed to touch women.”

The first monk says, "Yes, and when I got to the other side I put her down. You have been carrying her ever since."

Day 9798

Just finished watching the delayed telecast of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony.

Its' a much much smaller scale version than that of the Olympics Opening Ceremony more than a month ago. However, the 人气 seems so much stronger this day at the Bird's Nest Stadium. During the mass performance, I have a feeling that these performers are not only performing for the glory of their country in this mega-event but also living and fighting for themselves as independent individuals. I feel that their faces were filled with pride and visions of dreams unlike those seen at the Olympics OC.

One World, One Dream... How apt...

By the way, we got 2 bronze already, thanks to Laurentia Tan of Equestrian.
